WHAT MAKES A MORGANVILLE VIRTUAL GUEST STAR?
When we ran the (successful!) Kickstarter for MORGANVILLE, our new digital series running now on the Geek & Sundry channel on YouTube (link: http://www.youtube.com/geekandsundry), we wanted to give our die-hard Morganville Vampires book fans a chance to participate and be residents in our creepy little town … without having to sacrifice themselves, pay the required blood tax, or (more practically) arrange for air fares and hotels to come and film live on set, because that can be a real issue when real life hits filming schedules.
So we came up with the idea of a Virtual Guest Star backer level, in which we gave people the chance to have their faces (or those of their nearest and dearest) plastered on a poster somewhere in a scene of the show. Missing Persons flyers? No problem! Poetry readings? Absolutely! Dating services? Even people in Morganville need to date, right? Our graphic designers came up with amazing stuff, and I think you’ll love the results. All of our backers are receiving printed copies of their Guest Starring roles, and notice of where to find them in the show (we’re on that right now) but meanwhile, enjoy our wonderful Kickstarter Heroes in all their glory!
(Extra coolness: some of them are even hiding in plain sight, in framed photos in the Glass House!)
